A: In the Los Angeles area, KTLA (KTLA-DT) is found on Channel 5 on most televisions and converter boxes. Technically, KTLA-TV's digital signal is broadcast on Channel 31, but is re-assigned to Channel 5 on most TV sets and converter boxes to keep things simple. If you have cable or satellite TV service, your channel number may vary. If you are in another state, channel 5 is not KTLA. KTLA has its call letters in the lower right corner of the screen when we broadcast our programming so if you do not see KTLA 5 you are not watching KTLA in Los Angeles.
