The San Fernando Valley Community Mental Health Center is a private, non-profit agency dedicated to improving the mental health of individuals and families within the community.

Primary emphasis is placed on providing services to children, adolescents, and transitional-age youth with serious emotional disorders, as well as services for adults and older adults with severe and persistent mental illness. The Center is committed to treating all consumers with dignity and enhancing their quality of life. With 35 mental health programs housed in 24 facilities in the San Fernando Valley, the Center serves more than 13,000 people each year. Those served include the homeless, incarcerated, youth in juvenile hall or probation camps, victims of domestic violence, parents at high risk of committing child abuse, families, and monolingual consumers from the Hispanic, Armenian, Russian, and Southeast Asian cultures.

In addition to mental health programs, the Center provides housing for more than 400 consumers every night. The Center's ultimate goal is to move lives forward with an improved quality of life, decent housing, vocational opportunities, and meaningful social relationships.
