Best picture matchup
Now that the Oscar categories have been filled, the prognosticators can turn their attention to what film might actually win best picture this year. One of the myriad ways we at The Envelope like to predict the future is to look to the past. While every movie is, of course, unique, it may share certain characteristics with previous winners that help in the estimation of its chances. So what did we discover? That each nominee has a reason to expect a win.
