El Dorado High School in 1966. In its history has had only two band directors; Don Zink for eight years and current director Richard Watson has been the Instrumental Music Director since 1975.

In the past four decades, the band has grown from a Class B band to a 6A Open Division band and has one numerous sweepstakes awards through out Southern California as well as Hawaii and Vancouver, Canada. El Dorado HS has a full compliment of traditional instrumental music ensembles and jazz ensembles.
