"Children's Dreams" of a magical land with toadstool houses and bigger-than-life flowers, dandelions and ferns, populated by colorful birds and insects is the focus of Kiwanis International's 30th Rose Parade float entry. The fanciful houses are created with chrysanthemums, roses, carnations and orchid roofs, stems of paper bark and doors of redwood. The riders all are involved in Kiwanis International programs and youth groups.
The fanciful houses are created with chrysanthemums, roses, carnations and orchid roofs, stems of paper bark and doors of redwood. The giant sculpted morning glories have centers of orange lentil seed, yellow strawflower, white everlasting, and blue statice, with outer petals of lavender and blue statice with everlasting accents; stems are ti leaf. The dandelions are created with pampas grass and fuzzy cut everlasting. The ferns are decorated with whole split peas. The hummingbird has a beak of nori seaweed with silverleaf accent and a head of walnut shell, fine ground split pea, parsley flakes, red strawflower, and orange lentil seed; the body is covered with fuzzy cut everlasting, walnut shell, yellow split pea, eucalyptus and ti leaves. The "ground" is covered with sod, and the garden is created with white roses and orchids, and groups of orange, hot pink, light and dark lavender roses, daisies and carnations.
