Tornadoes tore through much of southwestern OK Monday night. The severe weather came through the metro only bringing with it heavy rain, stong winds and hail, no tornadoes.

The severe storms with at least 90 mile-per-hour winds passed through Washita County and Tillman County.

Tipton, Frederick, Manitou and Snyder were hit by tornadoes.

A tornado, possibly an EF-2 or EF-3, was on the ground for almost an hour on the west side of Manitou.

A large tornado was reported on ground west of Tipton and Frederick, could be an EF-2 or stronger.

A dairy farm four miles south of Tipton has been damaged.

Power lines are also down in the area.

Damages: 

  • A dairy farm in Tipton
  • Cattle or wheat ranch in Tillman Co.
  • Tipton family reported trapped in cellar after home reported on top of it has been FREED.
  • Quartz Mountain State Park
  • OK State University office in Tipton and Manitou destroyed - no word on injuries
