WILSHIRE -- Two burglary suspects in the Hancock Park area have been taken into custody after hiding from authorities for nearly two hours.
The male suspects were originally spotted trying to break into a home at about 12:15 p.m. in the 4900 block of Wilshire Boulevard, said Officer Gregory Baek of the Media Relations office.
The men then ran from the house and into a home on McCadden Street south of Sixth Street in an attempt to hide.
A housekeeper inside the home saw the suspects enter and went upstairs to call police, according to authorities.
A SWAT team was able to safely rescue the housekeeper from a balcony.
KTLA's Sky 5 was above the scene shortly after 2 p.m. when heavily armed SWAT officers ordered the suspects out of a storage shed and took them into custody.
A nearby school was reported to be on lockdown while the while the search was carried out.
