Police arrested a man for stabbing another man with a pen over a seating issue at the Comic-Con convention on Saturday, San Diego police said.

"Two males attending the Green Hornet seminar in room H at the Comic- Con got into a verbal argument,'' said San Diego police Officer David Stafford.

He said they were arguing over one sitting too close to the other in the crowded room.

"The males got into a physical altercation and one male struck the other male near the eye with a pen,'' he said. "The male that was struck was taken to a local hospital with a minor cut on or near his eyelid.''

The fight was initially reported as a stabbing around 4:45 p.m. at the convention center at 111 W. Harbor Drive, a San Diego Fire-Rescue Department dispatcher said.

The suspect was arrested on suspicion of assault with a deadly weapon, Stafford said.

Stafford described the Comic-Con crowd as fairly tame.

"There really haven't been any issues,'' he said. "They don't drink, so that cuts down on the fights.''
