SHERMAN OAKS -- A horrific accident left a young woman dead and another person injured on the 405 Freeway Friday, according to the California Highway Patrol.
A big rig slammed into two other vehicles pinning one of them up against the center divider on the northbound side of the freeway around noon, said a CHP Officer.
The name of the deceased woman was not released, but she was reported to be in her mid-20's.
A second person was transported to a hospital in critical condition, according to officials.
The CHP closed three northbound lanes as investigators tried to determine the cause of the accident.
