LOS ANGELES -- An aerialist who fell more than 20 feet during a performance at the Beverly Center mall says she broke several bones and spent seven weeks in a wheelchair.
Sarah Romanowsky, 26, said on "Good Morning America" Thursday that she doesn't remember anything about the accident last November.
Romanowsky lost her grip while hanging upside down from a metal hoop during the "Hunky Santa and the Candy Cane Girls" show. She fell about three stories in front of horrified shoppers and landed on a video production cube. Witnesses said she was smiling as rescuers carried her away.
The accident was captured on cell phone video.
Romanowsky says she has no recollection of what happened from the time she fell until two hours later when she was in the hospital.
"It terrified a lot of people. Fortunately, I remember nothing," she said. "That's a blessing."
The performers do not have nets to break their fall nor do they wear harnesses.
Romanowsky said she broke her pelvis in four places, shattered her wrist and broke six ribs. She spent eleven days in the hospital and says movement helped her with pain management.
She is now walking and her injuries have healed.
