SANTA ANA -- A bond hearing is scheduled Wednesday for a man accused of groping the breasts of sleeping female passengers on a Continental flight bound for Southern California.
The alleged assaults occurred on flight 787 from Newark, N.J. to John Wayne Airport in Orange County on Friday, March 5th.
James Dalton Bratcher, of New Jersey, is accused of wandering the aisles of the overnight flight and molesting female passengers as they slept.
According to a criminal complaint, two passengers told authorities they awoke to see a man later identified as Bratcher walking away from them.
Bratcher was arrested Sunday as he boarded a return flight. He is charged with knowingly causing sexual contact with another person without that person's permission, according to an affidavit.
Because the alleged offense occurred on an airplane, it is considered a federal crime.
Bratcher made his initial appearance Tuesday in U.S. District Court in Santa Ana.
He was ordered held without bond after a prosecutor cited past convictions and argued he was a danger to the public.
Bratcher has several aliases including, "Jaime Dalton Bratcher," "Jamie Bratcher," "Jody Dalton Bratcher," and "Jody Bratcher," with dates of birth to include June 23, 1974, June 24, 1974, and September 09, 1975.
