APPLE VALLEY, Calif. (KTLA) -- Homicide detectives arrested a homeless man Monday they say stabbed an 18-year-old man to death Sunday night in Apple Valley.
Clarence Hogue, 26, a transient from the Apple Valley area, was booked at West Valley Detention Center in Rancho Cucamonga. He was arrested on suspicion of murder and parole violation. He is being held without bail.
Deputies responded about 8:50 p.m. Sunday to a report of the stabbing at an apartment complex in the 15700 block of Sago Dell Road in Apple Valley.
Witnesses at the scene told deputies that Hogue and the stabbing victim, Dennis Moore, 18, of Victorville, had an argument in an apartment, according to a news release issued by the San Bernardino County Sheriff's Department.
During the argument, Hogue allegedly stabbed Moore with an unknown weapon and fled south on foot toward Highway 18.
He is still at large.
Witnesses at the apartment complex called 9-1-1 and gave Moore medical aid. Paramedics arrived and rushed him to St. Mary's Hospital in Apple Valley where he later died.
