COMPTON -- The Los Angeles County Sheriff's Department is asking the public for help in solving a murder that left a high school senior dead.
19-year-old Michael Owens was caught in the crossfire during a fight between two gangs in Compton in January 2009.
Police say he was gunned down while he was walking home from school along 132nd Street.
Investigators say two gang members got out of a car and shot Owens in the back without warning.
One of two suspect vehicles was a green sedan driven by a woman.
Anyone with information is urged to call authorities.
