LINCOLN, Neb. -- A man in Nebraska skipped the traditional ski mask during a convenience store robbery, instead donning a beer box over his head.

The unidentified man walked into a Kwik Shop convenience store before dawn Monday wearing an empty Bud Light box on his head, according to Lincoln police Capt. Bob Kawamoto.

He was apparently after cigarettes.

Kawamoto said the suspect wrapped something around one of his hands, suggesting he was armed. But, he never showed a weapon.

Police said the bandit left with nine packs of smokes valued at nearly $50.

The robbery was captured on surveillance video.

Investigators say the man dropped the empty 12-pack box as he fled, which will be checked for fingerprints.
