Bradley was found dead about 5:50 p.m. Saturday in his Mid-Wilshire apartment in the 100 block of South New Hampshire Avenue, police said.

The director/producer at Fountain Theatre, had been stabbed repeatedly, police said, and a bloody knife was found in his apartment.

Blake said detectives found evidence, which he would not disclose, that led them to Fructuoso's residence about a block away from Bradley's apartment around 10 p.m. Monday.

Evidence was then found that linked Fructuoso to the murder and, during questioning, he confessed to the crime, Blake said.

He is set to return to court Jan. 21 for a preliminary hearing.

The Fountain Theatre is celebrating its 20th anniversary this year, and Bradley was directing "The Ballad of Emmett Till," which is scheduled to open in February.

The show is based on the real-life story of a black teenager whose murder helped spark the civil rights movement.

The Fountain Theatre has set up a memorial fund to help offset the costs of a funeral and burial and to help fund the development of plays in Bradley's honor.
