LOS ANGELES (KTLA) -- Police are searching for the hit-and-run driver who struck and killed a bicyclist near Dockweiler State Beach.
The incident was reported around 2:30 a.m. Monday at Vista Del Mar and Hyperion.
Police say the George Loudon, 32, was headed home after work when he was struck by a vehicle.
He was pronounced dead at the scene.
Police did not have a vehicle description.
Authorities say bicyclists and pedestrians should take extra precautions on the roadways because of the July 4 crowds.
Anyone with information in the deadly hit-and-run is asked to call Los Angeles police at (213) 473-0222.
Meantime, authorities say a 34-year-old man was struck and killed by a hit-and-run driver in San Pedro Sunday morning.
The man, whose identity has not been released, was crossing the street near Pacific Avenue and 14th Street shortly after 2 a.m. when he was hit by a white Ford F-150 pickup, according to LAPD officials. He died at a local hospital.
The pickup was said to have a wide gold or silver stripe running along its body and tinted windows.
