IRVINE (KTLA) -- An Irvine man got quite a surprised when he found a baby bobcat on his fourth floor balcony.

KTLA viewer Oliver sent in a video of a dramatic rescue effort made by Irvine firefighters Friday afternoon at his apartment complex near UC Irvine.

Irvine police officers say the baby bobcat may have climbed up onto the parking structure and then leaped onto the balcony, where it was found sleeping under a barbecue.

When animal services arrived, the cat then jumped on to another balcony.

He was eventually caught and later released back into the wild.
