VAN NUYS -- A dream came true Wednesday for two young children badly burned in a devastating fire; they took control of an airplane and flew in the skies above Los Angeles.

Walter Gomez, Jr., 9, and his sister Ebony, 7, climbed aboard a single-engine Beechcraft Bonanza aircraft Wednesday morning in Van Nuys. A short time later, they were airborne, each taking the controls of the plane during the short flight.

Walter and Ebony were badly burned in a car fire in April, 2004.
