Car Slams into Bus Stop Near 110 Fwy (KTLA News) |
SOUTH LOS ANGELES (KTLA) -- The Highway Patrol say the driver who plowed into a group Metro bus passengers was driving 80 mph when he swerved into the bus lane hitting 7 people.
According to CHP Officer Christian Cracraft, the driver also failed a sobriety test.
The crash happened Wednesday at 3:15 p.m. on a median next to the northbound 110 Freeway near the 105 Freeway.
Seven people were injured, 6 critically after they were hit by the car.
Authorities say the car had strayed into the bus lane.
The driver swerved to avoid hitting the back of a bus and instead plowed into a group of people waiting on the median.
The driver has been identified as Steven L. Lubin, 51, of Sun Valley.
He has been arrested but is still being treated at California Hospital Medical Center for minor injuries.
