WHITTIER -- A youth football coach has been charged with molesting two 10-year-old boys that play for his team.
Paul Anthony Ayala, 42, pleaded not guilty Tuesday to eight felony counts of sexual molestation of a child under 14 and one felony count of oral copulation of a child 10 or younger.
One of the boys was allegedly molested in 2008 and the other in 2009, while playing for Ayala's Pop Warner football team.
Police were tipped off by a family member of one of the boys.
Ayala was arrested Friday and remains behind bars with bail set a $8.25 million.
If convicted as charged, he faces multiple life terms, according to the District Attorney's Office.
Ayala's next court appearance is scheduled for March 24.
