Suspects sought in Compton home invasions (KTLA-TV) |
The first home invasion happened around 12:30 a.m. Tuesday in the 1000 block of Dwight Avenue.
Four armed suspects kicked in the door of the house, according to authorities. A man, his wife, and child were inside at the time.
The suspects demanded cash and ransacked the home while the family was held at gunpoint.
They also pistol whipped the father before taking off.
He was hospitalized, but is said to be in good condition.
About an hour later, police received reports of a second home invasion in the 400 block of North Kemp.
That incident was "very similar" to the first robbery, according to Det. Fernando Gonzalez of the Compton Sheriff's Station.
The suspects made off with an undisclosed amount of cash as well as a computer.
"I would definitely be concerned," Gonzalez said of the two home invasions. "Both instances it appears the subjects were armed."
"It looks like they're going for small items or items they can easily get rid of," Gonzalez said.
He added: "Make sure you lock your doors at night, and keep a phone handy in case you do need to dial 911."
No description of the suspects or their getaway vehicle has been released.
