LOS ANGELES-- A small earthquake struck Sunday evening, shaking some areas of Los Angeles.
The 5:40 p.m. quake ranked in a 2.6 magnitude, striking at a depth of about 8.7 below the earths surface about 1 mile south by southwest of East Compton, 2 miles west by southwest of Paramount, and 12 miles south by southeast of the Los Angeles Civic Center, according the the United States Geological Survey.
Most of the people who reported feeling the shaking were around the areas of Compton, Paramount, Downey, and Long Beach, according to USGS statistics.
There weren't any reported damages or injuries related to the lower magnitude quake.
