COMPTON -- A Compton High School math teacher has pleaded not guilty to charges he sexually assaulted three female students.
Nicolei Hurtado Ocaña, 28, of Placentia, entered his plea Tuesday in Compton Superior Court.
He is charged with two counts of committing lewd acts upon a child, two counts of contact with a minor for sexual offense, and one count each of oral copulation of a person under 18 and child molesting, a misdemeanor.
He was arrested Friday by investigators from the Los Angeles County Sheriff's Department's Special Victims Bureau.
The alleged abuse happened at the high school between September 2008 and last month, according to the criminal complaint.
One of the alleged victims was 15 at the time of the abuse, while the other two were 16, the complaint states.
Ocaña is being held in lieu of $390,000 bail.
If convicted, he faces a maximum term of six years in state prison.
