CORONA -- A search is underway for a suspect in a deadly shooting that may have been the result of road rage, according to police.
Investigators with the Corona police department say a 34-year-old man was killed when an apparent road-rage dispute that began on the Riverside (91) Freeway ended in gunfire on a Corona street.
Ignacio Duarte Jr., of Corona, was pronounced dead at the scene of the shooting, which took place in the 1000 block of Pomona Road shortly before 2 a.m.
According to Corona police, Duarte and another motorist had been involved in some sort of road rage incident while both traveled on the westbound 91 Freeway.
Duarte, who was driving an SUV, exited the freeway and the suspect followed. At the intersection of Pomona and Lincoln Avenue, someone in the suspect's vehicle opened fire, striking Duarte, whose vehicle rolled across the intersection and struck a Best Western motel, according to investigators.
No other injuries were reported.
The suspect vehicle was described as a black Ford Expedition with shiny chrome rims.
