LOS ANGELES --A 20-year-old man, on probation for two drunken driving convictions, now faces murder charges in the death of a bicyclist.

Prosecutors say Marco Antonio Valencia of Santa Clarita was charged Tuesday with murder, gross vehicular manslaughter while intoxicated, and leaving the scene of an accident and driving under the influence.

Valencia is accused of hitting four cyclists with his pickup truck on a mountain road in the Angeles National Forest on Sunday, killing 43-year-old Joseph Novotny of Stevenson Ranch and injuring the others. Two other cyclists were hospitalized with serious injuries

Valencia is being held on $1 million bail and is scheduled to be arraigned July 29. He 27 years to life in prison if convicted.
