Police Seek College Camera Peeper

Cypress, Calif. (KTLA) -- Police are asking for the public's help identifying a suspect who they believe has been taking photos or video in a women's restroom at Cypress College.

Police report that on February 13, a female victim was using the women's restroom in the college's Humanities Building on the north side of the campus.

The victim saw a hand come from underneath the divider of the stall next to her, holding a cell phone camera.

She believed the suspect holding the device was recording her.

The victim began to shout, and exited the stall.

She saw a male suspect run from the stall next to her. He fled without a word.

The female victim chased the suspect, and called police on her cell phone.

She saw the suspect run north through campus, then scale a wall to a business property adjacent to the college.

A surveillance camera in the Humanities Building recorded an image that police believe is the male suspect, as he fled the building.

Cypress police investigators are working with Cypress College personnel to identify the suspect.
