NEW ORLEANS (KTLA) -- Lakers' rookie Derrick Caracter was arrested early Sunday morning at an International House of Pancakes restaurant after allegedly shoving a cashier.
According to police, the incident began around 1:00 a.m. when Caracter, who appeared to be drunk, shoved the woman after being denied service.
Caracter, a 22-year-old reserve forward, was booked for battery, public intoxication and resisting arrest.
He was released from the Orleans Parish jail after posting a $1,000 bond.
The Lakers are in New Orleans for their playoff series against the Hornets.
Caracter didn't play in Sunday night's playoff game.
He was a second-round draft pick out of UTEP, appeared in only 41 games and averaged just 5.2 minutes per game for the Lakers this season.
Police initially said the IHOP cashier was pregnant, but later said that was an error.
The woman wasn't injured.
