3.9 Magnitude Quake Rattles SoCal Desert
SAN DIEGO-- An earthquake shook an area of desert near the border between San Diego and Imperial Counties, according to the U.S. Geological Survey.

The 3.9 magnitude temblor struck around 3:00 p.m. Saturday about 15 miles north by north east of Ocotillo and 24 miles west by northwest of El Centro at a depth of 8.9 miles, according to USGS preliminary statistics.

No injuries or damage was reported form the sparsely populated desert area.
