LOS ANGELES -- Dodger officials are looking into a scuffle between security guards and a fan who was reportedly refusing to leave the stadium on opening day.
The confrontation was caught on tape and posted on YouTube.
The video, purportedly shot on April 13, shows a number of uniformed security guards approaching an unidentified man near an exit gate to the stadium. One of the guards appears to exchange words with the man. And that's when things get physical.
The video shows the fan surrounded by security staff pushing the man out of the gate as he appears to be resisting their attempts to remove him from the stadium.
One of the security guards pushes the fan several times in the chest. When the fan lifts up his arms, he is kicked in the chest area, which knocks him to the ground.
The fan is grabbed by the arms and legs by more than a half a dozen people wearing "Security" shirts and is handcuffed.
132 people were arested at the stadium during an opening-day crackdown on Monday. It's unclear if this man was part of the crackdown.
LAPD Captain Bill Murphy says he does not know the identity of the man in the video. None of those captured on the video were on-duty LAPD officers, Murphy said.
Capt. Murphy, who is in charge of the area that includes Dodger Stadium, says the video may not show everything that happened leading up to the incident.
He does say the video shows that some of the "use of force" actions by security officers were justified. The fan appears to push and kick security guards.
