RANCHO CUCAMONGA -- A man accused of robbing a Circle K store 8-years ago was linked to the crime by fingerprints on a Doritos bag.
Eric Morales, 27, pleaded guilty to the 2000 crime on Aug. 6, San Bernardino County sheriff's officials said.
It happened at a store on 12586 Foothill Blvd in 2002.
Witnesses say Morales and another man entered the store.
The first suspect bought a candybar and left.
Morales then approached the cashier with several items.
But instead of making a purchase, he demanded money, prosecutors said.
A bag of Doritos was among the items Morales left on the counter when he fled.
Eight years later, Morales was arrested on suspicion of possessing burglary tools and receiving stolen property.
Fingerprints that had been lifted off the Doritos bag in the 2000 robbery matched fingerprints taken from Morales when he was booked in jail Aug. 3, 2008.
He is scheduled to be sentenced Sept. 21.
