SEAL BEACH -- Detectives arrested a 31-year-old caregiver Friday morning on charges of grand theft, forgery and elder abuse.

Marisa Robles was taken into custody on an outstanding warrant related to the theft of over $287,000 from an elderly victim who resides in Leisure World, Seal Beach.

Robles, a Norwalk resident, is accused of forgery, grand theft and elder abuse among the list of over 90 criminal counts.

Robles worked for the 81-year-old victim in Leisure World as his caregiver since 2007.

Shortly after she began her employment, she began writing checks to herself totaling $287,848.13 from the victim's personal bank accounts without his consent, according to Sgt. Steve Bowles of the Seal Beach Police Department.
