Dillon John Roots and Thomson Vo |
LAKE FOREST -- Two adults and three teens are behind bars, suspected of vandalizing a Lake Forest elementary school with spray-painted swastikas and racial slurs.
Neighbors of Foothill Ranch Elementary School called the sheriff's department about 11 p.m. Friday.
Deputies were able to arrest two of the suspects -- a teen and 19 year old Thomson Vo of Rancho Santa Margarita, according to Orange County sheriff's spokesman John McDonald.
A 15 year old and a 17 year old were arrested Saturday morning in Mission Viejo, according to McDonald.
Dillon John Roots, 18, was arrested Sunday morning on suspicion of felony vandalism in excess of $50,000.
Authorities said the five used white spray-paint to vandalize the school.
Investigators are looking into the possibility that the suspects are involved with white supremacist gangs. If they are, they would face additional charges.
It was unclear why Foothill Elementary was targeted. None of the suspects attended the school.
The school has been cleaned in time for classes to resume Tuesday. It was previously scheduled to be closed Monday.
