LOS ANGELES-- A man was arrested on suspicion of murder in the death of an unborn child believed to be his, police say.
Joshua Woodward, 37 was arrested around 3:15 a.m. Sunday in the 3600 block of West Third Street, according to the Los Angeles Police Department.
Police say the arrest came after an investigation on Monday revealed "suspicious circumstances of a miscarriage" in an unidentified woman's estimated 13th week of pregnancy.
Woodward was believed to have been the biological father of the child.
Police released no information on the circumstances of the child's death, and the only information released on the mother is that she is alive.
Joshua Woodward is described only as a Los Angeles businessman with ties to Chicago and Miami, where investigators are also seeking information pertaining to this case.
Woodward was booked on suspicion of murder at the Wilshire Jail, where he is being held in lieu of $2 million bail.
