FULLERTON, Calif. (KTLA) -- A mother and her two children were hospitalized after an elderly driver hit them in a marked crosswalk as they walked home from school.
The accident happened on Rolling Hills Drive near Puente Street shortly before 3:30 p.m. Tuesday.
Police say a 90-year-old woman driving a Ford Focus hit all three, and then continued for a short distance before crashing into a tree.
She was taken to a hospital in critical condition.
Authorities say she may have suffered a medical emergency.
The mother and children, a 9-year-old girl and her 6-year-old boy, were leaving Beechwood Elementary School, police said.
They were reportedly walking across a marked crosswalk when they were struck.
They were not seriously injured.
