GARDENA - A motorist who allegedly backed into a Gardena parking officer's vehicle and led police on a chase today was arrested when he crashed
near an elementary school, police said.
The man, whose name was withheld pending booking, suffered minor injuries and was taken into custody at Marine Avenue and Gramercy Place about 9:30 a.m., Gardena police Sgt. R. Gonsalves said.
Police began chasing the vehicle after the man allegedly backed into a parking officer's vehicle and sped off, Gonsalves said.
The parking officer was uninjured.
The car crashed near Chapman Elementary School, Gonsalves said.
