NEW YORK -- CBS is saying "no" to a Super Bowl ad targeting the single gay community.
The 30-second ad for the gay male dating site Mancrunch.com features two men making out while watching a football game.
CBS said it banned the ad because of its low quality and the company's credit history.
The ad would cost $2.5 million, and it's unclear whether Mancrunch could foot the bill.
However, gay activists call the decision an act of discrimination. "If it were a heterosexual couple or even two women, it probably would have gotten approved," said a ManCrunch rep.
Some people say the dating site simply wants free publicity, which the CBS rejection has provided.
Another Super Bowl ad drumming up controversy is an anti-abortion spot featuring University of Florida star quarterback Tim Tebow. CBS approved that ad for broadcast during the big game.
