Toddler falls from second-floor window in Santa Ana (KTLA-TV) |
SANTA ANA, Calif. (KTLA) -- A 4-year-old girl is in critical condition after plunging head-first out a second-story window in Orange County.
The girl and her mother were visiting friends -- a 3-year-old girl and her mother – at about 4:30 p.m. at their home in the 800 block of S. Sullivan Street in Santa Ana. The two children began playing in a second-floor bedroom.
The girls were jumping on a bed when the 4-year-old flew head-first through a screened window and plummeted to the ground in the backyard, said Santa Ana police officials.
Paramedics rushed the girl to UCI Medical Center, where she is listed in critical condition.
An investigation is under way, however, officials say it appears to have been an accident.
