GLENDALE, Calif. -- A heavily-traveled road and a freeway offramp were shut down in Glendale for about two hours Wednesday morning while a bomb squad investigated a suspicious package, according to police.
The "suspicious item" was found in the area of Colorado Boulevard near Broadway around 7 a.m., according to the Glendale Police Department. No further details regarding the device were provided.
As a precaution, Colorado Blvd. was shut down in the area as well as the Harvey offramp of the 134 Freeway.
A bomb squad determined the item was not a threat and the roadways were reopened shortly after 9 a.m., said Glendale police Sgt. Danny Carver.
No explosives were found, he said.
