LOS ANGELES -- Snow was affecting the stretch of Interstate 5 north of Los Angeles known as the Grapevine, but the fluffy stuff was not sticking to the roadway.

The flurry was part of a winter storm that swept through the Southland overnight. The 5 freeway remained open late Saturday morning.

As a result of snowfall, California Highway Patrol officers ran escorts through Tejon Pass before dawn.

An inch of snow fell in Wrightwood in the San Bernardino Mountains overnight. Frazier park saw 4 inches, according to the National Weather Service.

Scattered rain was possible throughout the region Saturday.
