HAWTHORNE, Calif. (KTLA) -- Sheriff's homicide detectives are investigating an early Saturday morning outside a Hawthorne restaurant that left one man dead and four other people wounded.

Deputies responded about 1:20 a.m. to a report of the shooting outside the Den Bar & Grill in the 11400 block of S. Hawthorne Boulevard. They arrived to find five black men suffering from gunshot wounds, according to a news release issued by the Los Angeles County Sheriff's Department.

Officials have not disclosed information on the medical conditions of the other four victims.

Witnesses told a camera crew that a fight broke out inside the restaurant before moving outside. That's when a suspect pulled a gun and opened fire.

Homicide detectives are still sifting through witnesses and evidence from the chaotic crime scene, where about 100 people stood when the shooting occurred.

No suspect information has been released.

"At this point, we just don't have enough information to know who we're going after," said sheriff's Lt. Dave Dolson.
