HERMOSA BEACH -- Police are asking for the public's help in locating a 19-year old woman who disappeared nearly a month ago.
Nina Von Schweinitz's mother reported her missing on November 12.
She was last seen in the area of "Slab City" about three miles from Niland in Imperial County.
Her car was found abandoned Dec. 5 near the 215 and 15 freeways in San Bernardino County, Hermosa Beach police Detective Mick Gaglia said.
"Slab City" is an abandoned military base.
Numerous people live there in recreational vehicles.
"She stopped using her cell phone a couple weeks ago. We don't know where she is," Gaglia said. "Her mom is pretty worried about her."
Von Schweinitz also has not contacted friends or used her social networking sites.
Anyone with any information is asked to call Hermosa Beach detectives, at (310) 318-0360.
