HESPERIA -- Residents in the area of Summit Valley Road and Lurelane Avenue in Hesperia are being warned about a mountain lion on the prowl.
The animal has been spotted several times in the area.
The city used its reverse 911 system to notify residents about the sightings.
The message warns that people should keep pets in enclosures at night and should not approach the mountain lion if it's spotted. Instead, they should call 911 immediately and notify Hesperia Animal Control at (760) 947-1700.
