HOLLYWOOD (KTLA) -- Hours after the Kodak Theater played host to the 83rd Academy Awards, a water main break created a sinkhole just down the street on Highland Avenue.
The water main break was discovered about 9 p.m. Sunday.
Part of Highland was shut down early Monday morning between Santa Monica Boulevard and Lexington Avenue.
Water gushed up through cracks in the pavement, causing the roadway to buckle.
No word yet on how many DWP customers may be affected by the broken water main.
