LOS ANGELES, Calif. (KTLA) -- Sheriff's internal affairs investigators arrested a jail custody assistant Monday, claiming he was preparing to distribute cocaine at Men's Central Jail.
Remington Orr, 24, was a custody assistant -- not a sworn deputy -- at the jail for about four years, according to a Los Angeles County Sheriff's Department news release. Investigators arrested him late Monday as he allegedly tried to enter the jail with the drug in his possession.
Sheriff's officials said Orr brought contraband to jail inmates in exchange for "monetary considerations."
Orr was booked on suspicion of at least three felonies including possession of a controlled substance with intent to sell, transportation of a controlled substance with intent to sell and bribery, sheriff's officials said.
The arrested came after a four-week investigation into Orr's actives, according to the news release.
