Horse collapses at Knott's Berry Farm (KTLA-TV)

BUENA PARK, Calif. (KTLA) -- A lot of questions are being asked after a horse collapsed at Knott's Berry Farm, right in front of everyone in line.

Lindsey Herrod and her family told KTLA that the horses looked exhausted on Sunday on the stagecoach ride.

Herrod said one of the horses started to tremble, and then collapsed.

"It was kind of, like, getting dragged this way," Herrod said of the animal, which was harnessed to some other horses for the ride.

"In the meantime, [another] horse is trampling on it, and I think he was trampling on his face," she said, adding that there appeared to be blood coming from the horse's mouth.

Knott's emailed KTLA a statement, saying: "The horse received medical attention that night, but the veterinarian in attendance was not clear as to what caused the fall. The horse is still under doctor's care until we can determine the root cause of the animal's behavior."
