Claire Tourand, 34, is accused of abducting her four non-custodial children (July 11, 2009)
LOS ANGELES -- An Amber Alert for a Las Vegas woman suspected of abducting her four children remains in effect in Arizona and southern California.
An arrest warrant was issued for Claire Tourand, 34, after she failed to show up for a custody meeting with social service officials Saturday, according to officials from the Washoe County, Nevada Sheriff's Department.
Investigators determined that Tourand left her residence sometime Friday or Saturday and fled with the four children.
A family court judge has also issued an order for the return of the children that says there is immediate risk of harm to them.
Records show Tourand was recently released from the Washoe County Jail. Tourand was jailed on child neglect charges related to squalid conditions of her home, according to the Reno Gazette Journal.
She pleaded guilty to allowing her children to live in a home where the feces and urine of nine cats and eight dogs saturated her children's bed and clothing, and where rotted food was scattered around the home, the Journal reports.
Authorities say Tourand may be heading to Mexico in a white 1998 Mercury Sable, license plate number 369 SDH.
Investigators have received numerous leads from Southern California, according to Washoe County sheriff's spokeswoman Brooke Keast.
The Amber Alert was canceled in Nevada because Tourand and her children are no longer thought to be there, authorities said.
The children -- Ivan, Jakelyne, Megan and Tyson Mata-Martinez -- range in age from 4 to 9.
