LONG BEACH -- Homicide detectives are searching for the gunman who shot and killed an 18-year-old man in Long Beach.
The shooting was reported at 11:12 p.m. Wednesday in the 1800 block of Henderson Avenue, which intersects with the Pacific Coast (1) Highway, according to Long Beach Police spokeswoman Lisa Massacani.
The man was found on a sidewalk and had been shot in the upper body, Massacani said.
The victim, identified as an 18-year-old Long Beach resident, was pronounced dead at the scene.
Homicide detectives were interviewing people in the neighborhood, but police did not immediately release any information on the suspect or a motive.
It was not immediately known if the shooting was gang-related, Massacani said.
