LOS ANGELES -- 80 people were arrested and 16 needed medical attention during the 18th annual "Love Festival" at the L.A. Sports Arena.
According to Fire officials 16 people were treated on site for undisclosed difficulties and 3 needed to be taken to a hospital by ambulance.
The 80 arrests were mainly for drug related offenses and usage of fake IDs
Due to raised heightened safety concerns after a 15 year old girl died at the Electric Daisy Carnival in June, the Love Festival's planners Go Ventures banned minors from attending and tightened safety regulations.
The Coliseum decided to allow three rave events that had already been scheduled, including the Love Festival, to go off as planned.
The Coliseum Commission enacted some new procedures for Saturday's event, which began at 4:00 p.m.
All attendees were required to show IDs to prove they are at least 18 years old. And there are emergency room doctors on-site.
City officials have been working to impose stricter regulations on raves and rave promoters since the Electric Daisy Carnival.
The L.A. County Board of Supervisors has set up a "rave task force" to crack down on the large-scale parties.
The Love Festival began in Los Angeles in 1992, and then expanded to other states and around the world.
The rave event went on until 2:00 a.m. Sunday.
