HOLLYWOOD, Calif. -- Fire crews have extinguished a fire at the historic Magic Castle in Hollywood.
The fire was reported around 12:00 p.m. at the private club at 7001 W. Franklin Ave.
Fire crews said the blaze was contained largely to the attic and walls of the historic venue but that there might be significant water damage.
There is no immediate cause for the blaze, but there are reports that maintenance was being done in the building Monday morning.
According to its website, the Magic Castle is the world's most famous club for magicians and magic enthusiasts and home to The Academy of Magical Arts, Inc.
The Magic Castle opened its doors on January 2, 1963.
The Magic Castle's website stated the restaurant club would be closed Monday night due to the fire.
