Blanca Martinez-Navarro, the program manager for the city's gang reduction and youth development office, was booked on suspicion of misdemeanor battery shortly before 2 a.m. after police were called to the Conga Room at 800 West Olympic Boulevard at the L.A. Live complex.
According to officers, Martinez-Navarro and her husband were attending a party when a dispute erupted, ending with Martinez-Navarro and her husband allegedly fighting with security guards and L.A. Police officers.
Her husband, Oscar Navarro, was also booked on the same charge.
In an email, Villaraigosa Chief of Staff Jeff Carr said Blanca Martinez-Navarro had been placed on administrative leave pending the outcome of an investigation. He had no further comment.
According to witnesses, the couple was attending a large party at the Conga Room when they reportedly started arguing loudly.
Oscar Navarro, say witnesses, then began fighting with a security guard who tried to intervene in the dispute.
LAPD officers were called to the scene.
Witnesses say when police confronted Navarro, he struggled with officers.
Blanca Martinez-Navarro allegedly jumped onto one of the officer's back, say witnesses who were attending the event.
Martinez-Navarro has been released on $20,000 bail. Her husband was being held Monday on $20,000 bail.
